In our first Cleanfax Challenge poll, we compare Harvin Pettit’s “Red Candle Wax” debacle to Rex B Farr’s “Blue Ice Pack” explosion. Which is your favorite? Below are the images and descriptions for the above poll.
Red Candle Wax Challenge
Harvin Pettit of A1 Custom Carpet Cleaning in Raymond, WA, describes this particular job: “Sometimes you get a job that shows why it’s best to call professionals when disasters happen. This client called five days before Thanksgiving and said family was on the way. What had happened? A candle warmer sat on a table… and the homeowner tripped over the power cord. You can see the disaster in the photo: Red candle wax. It was on the carpet, furniture and walls. The second photo shows the value of carpet protection and education from the IICRC. We used chemicals sparingly due to the dyeing effect that can occur when you break down the wax during removal. Now we have a happy repeat client!”
Blue Ice Pack Challenge
Rex B Farr of F&C Cleaning Systems in Gansevoort, NY, describes this particular job: “I received a call one day, and the lady said her daughter threw a blue ice pack and it exploded across the carpet. She already called two other carpet cleaners, and both of them said it would never come out, and they wouldn’t bother coming to look at the job. I told her if I couldn’t remove the stain, there would be no charge, so there wasn’t any risk to her. As you can see from the photo, I was successful using Red Relief from Pro’s Choice and now I have a loyal customer for life.”
