The 2016 International Restoration Convention sees another successful year
ORLANDO, FL — RIA’s 2016 International Restoration Convention & Industry Expo is underway in Orlando and will run through Wednesday, March 23.
The event kicked off Monday, March 21, in a day filled with information and networking. During the RIA Board Meeting, well-known industry face, Violand Management Associates Principle and frequent Cleanfax contributor Chuck Violand was announced the new president of the RIA.
During the welcome, keynote and certification recognition event held Tuesday, March 22, Violand performed his first official act as president as he welcomed and acknowledged new certified restorers.
The second day of the convention also saw numerous breakout sessions and the official open of the exhibit hall. Speaker, coach and selling expert Judy Ferraro delivered the keynote address, titled “The Resilient Multi-Generational Workplace Merging Consideration, Strength, Wisdom & Communication,” in which she explained “how conscious leadership can combine all generations and cultivate a healthy and engaging workplace for [companies] and [allow owners] have a little fun in the process.”
The RIA will held its 70th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Banquet Tuesday night. This was followed early in the morning on Wednesday, March 23 with the association’s General Session.
The restoration convention concluded with more breakout sessions, the RIA Annual Business Meeting and a Town Hall. The Town Hall Meeting followed up on the success of the inaugural Town Hall held in 2015. Those in attendance discussed key issues facing the industry with representatives from various industry experts.
