Surface Shields releases lighter Builder Board Project Edition
ORLAND PARK, IL ā Surface Shields, makers of the Builder Board line of products, recently developed and released a new, lighter alternative to Builder Board named Builder Board Project Edition, according to a press release.
“Kraft and red rosin paper have been standard materials for protecting flooring in the construction, painting and remodeling industries… Yet, neither of these construction papers provide any type of impact resistance, an element that is a common necessity in a job site environment,” Surface Shields noted in the release. “Surface Shields set out to develop a material that offers tough surface protection in a lighter, more manageable roll.”
Surface Shields’ goal was to create a tougher protective surface for those uninterested in moving to the 45-point thickness of standard Builder Board but who were interested in something that would would offer more protection than the thin papers. The result was Builder Board Project Edition.
The 22-point Project Edition provides a breathable alternative to rosin papers that is almost three times thicker. Ideal for residential projects, it’s still tough enough for smaller-scale commercial projects.
Project Edition also bonds well with Builder Board Breathable Tape for floors till curing, and the new, lighter Project Edition is just as water resistant as traditional Builder Board.
