There’s only one month remaining to apply for the International Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Council of Associations’ (IICRCA) scholarship program for North American IICRC Certified Firms!
Good for up to $200, North American IICRC Certified Firms can apply for a scholarship to attend an IICRC-approved class or approved industry event. The scholarship is good for up to halfthe tuition/registration costs of an IICRC-approved course. For example, if the class is $400 or more, you will receive the full $200 scholarship; if the class is $300, you will receive $150.

The IICRC is accepting applications from interested members for the S210 Standard for Dimension Stone Restoration, S220 Standard for Hard Surface Floor Covering Inspection, S300 Standard for Professional Upholstery Cleaning and the S540 Standard for Trauma and Crime Scene Cleanup. Legend Brands announces survey prize winners
BURLINGTON, WA — Legend Brands recently chose the three 2015 Cleanfax magazine Restoration Benchmarking Survey respondents who will receive prizes from the company.
Cleanfax thanks all those who took the time out of their busy schedules to partake in this important annual event, which allows restoration businesses across the country a chance to better plan and compare themselves to peers.
The results of the Restoration Benchmarking Survey Report can be found in the July Cleanfax print and digital editions as well as at Cleanfax.com.
The winners, each receiving a case of BotaniClean® antimicrobial cleaner and a Velo™ Pro airmover, include Chris Jeter of A-Town/Hi-Tech LP in Abilene, TX; Steven Hirmer of Signature Cleaners in Naperville, IL; and Scott Powell of Classic Fire and Water Restoration in Mesa, AZ.
Legend Brands also sent each survey respondent a 500-point Legend Rewards certificate, so they could join the 9,700 cleaning and restoration companies in banking rewards from their Legend Brands purchases.
Both Cleanfax and Legend Brands regularly conduct surveys to assess and analyze the restorative drying business climate and customer interest in new products and emerging technologies.
GSD Chem acquires Solutions by Steam Pros
EDDYSTONE, PA — GSD Chem Inc. officially completed acquisition of Solutions by Steam Pros.
“Solutions is known for their high-quality cleaning and protection solutions and is a perfect complement to our other specialty industrial cleaning products,” Dr. Heather Rayle, president of GSD Chem.
Solutions by Steam Pros, which manufactures cleaning, odor control and surface protection products for carpet, upholstery, fabrics and other surfaces, will now be headquartered at GSD Chem’s Eddystone facility. GSD Chem is a provider of specialty cleaning and lubrication formulations used in a variety of industries.
Rayle added, “We are pleased to have Solutions by Steam Pros join the GSD Chem family.”
Commercial Carpet Cleaning Symposium to follow The Experience
LAS VEGAS — The Commercial Carpet Cleaning Symposium, a learning opportunity for cleaners who perform or would like to perform commercial cleaning, will be held immediately following The Experience Convention and Trade Show in September.
The Symposium will occur during the evening of September 11, after the official end of The Experience, and all day September 12 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino.
