Cleanfax Photo Contest: Pool of Blood in the Carpet
The photo contest winner this month is Rick Knoefler of Smart N Kleen in Klamath Falls, Oregon, for dealing with a ton of blood in the carpet of an elderly woman. His company will receive a Visa gift card worth $250.
I had a customer call me about a major stain. Her mother fell, hit her head, and lost about 33% of her blood in the carpet. We used cold water and extracted as much as we could and then used an organic spot-removal chemical and rinsed it many times. We came back because it bled back from the padding, so we pulled up the carpet and padding. We disinfected the floor and rinsed and cleaned the padding then repeated the same process on the carpet. We used a brightener and then came back and cleaned the carpet with our normal process. It came out perfect.
For an opportunity to win a gift card worth $250, send your images and a brief 100-word description on how you obtained your results to Amanda Hosey, managing editor, at [email protected], or submit via Facebook messenger at www.facebook.com/cleanfax. Contest rules available by request.
Not all spot reappearances are due to wicking. If a spot reappears weeks later, it’s likely due to sticky residue.
