CHICAGO — Two weeks after it was closed for water damage and mold remediation, Hinsdale Middle School reopened, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Reports from Integrity Environmental Services, an environmental consulting service, who took samplings for mold on January 31, and February 1 and 3, indicated the school was safe for occupancy, the article stated.

According to the article, the mold in the school was a result of a pipe burst during a cold snap in early January.

Superintendent Renee Schuster noted that a small number of rooms and areas were noted by Integrity as having "rare" or "low" concentrations of two types of mold and one area showed a "moderate" level of a third type of mold, the article noted.

Schuster indicated that those areas were immediately cleaned again by SERVPRO, the cleaning contractor, and then re-tested by Integrity, the article added.
