Powr-Flite releases ‘Four Tips’ for hardwood floors

FORT WORTH, TX — Powr-Flite recently released its "Four Tips When Caring for Hardwood Floors" in this month's Powr-Flite.com Troubleshooter, according to a press release.

The company points to the growing popularity of hardwood floors in both residential and commercial facilities as a reason for floor cleaning professionals to brush up on their hardwood cleaning knowledge.

The company's four tips are:

  1. Use a backpack vacuum to avoid simply moving dust from one location to another.
  2. Avoid wet or oiled dust mops because they can alter the floor's appearance.
  3. Remove spills quickly since they can damage the finish.
  4. Gain finish knowledge since each type — there are essentially three — has it's own cleaning specifications.

"Hardwood floors can usually be buffed using a low-speed floor machine," Debby Davis, floorcare expert with Powr-Flite, said in the release. "Use a buffing pad and by selecting a heavier floor machine with more contact pressure, cleaning results are improved."
