Drugs found concealed in carpet cleaner bottles

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — Authorities have seized more than $200 million worth of methamphetamines they found in carpet cleaner bottles, dealing a blow to an international criminal organization, according to The Courier.

Australian Customs and Border officers discovered an estimated 365 liters of liquid containing methamphetamine, disguised among more than 3000 bottles of carpet stain cleaner, in a shipping container sent from Hong Kong, the article stated.

According to the article, Australian Crime Commission National Intervention Manager Warren Gray said "the criminal organization used sophisticated concealment technology to mask the drugs."

Police have arrested a 45-year-old woman, originally from Hong Kong and described as one of the "main facilitators" of the criminal operation, and a 31-year-old Canadian man in relation to the seizure, the article noted.
