CHENNAI, India — The Chem-Dry carpet cleaning franchise recently began a hard-hitting expansion into India, according to a press release.

Chem-Dry, the largest carpet cleaning franchise in the world, plans to “aggressively focus on expanding into new markets in India, as well as [strengthen] its footprint in its existing markets” in the coming year. Chem-Dry currently operates in 50 countries.

The company reports it chose ramp up its India expansion due to the company’s status as the world’s fastest-growing economy (according to the International Monetary Fund).

“We’re very fortunate that we’ve been able to expand into India when their economy is creating a tremendous amount of opportunity for entrepreneurs who want to take their future into their own hands,” Director of International Development for Chem-Dry Joe Manuszak said in the release.

The company moved into India in 2014, developing operations in Chennai. It now is in the process of establishing franchise locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad in which it feels its business model will find success.

Recent Chem-Dry franchise additions bring the total number of franchises to 3,500 in locations worldwide.
