Dixie Group acquires Burtco Enterprises

CHATTANOOGA, TN — Carpet manufacturer, Dixie Group, has acquired Burtco Enterprises Inc of Dalton, GA, for $2.3 million, according to a press release.

Burtco is a provider of Tapistron computerized yarn placement, soft floorcovering and other related products serving the hospitality market.

"We think it will be a fruitful and profitable acquisition," Jon Faulkner, CFO of Dixie, said. Dixie hopes to fill a niche between woven and tufted products through the acquisition.

Most of Burtco’s employees will be retained after the transition, including the company’s chief executive, Elizabeth Moore.
