Volunteers Needed for Development of Three IICRC Standards

LAS VEGAS—June 10, 2021—The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification is seeking volunteers to serve on consensus bodies for the revision and development of three IICRC standards: BSR/IICRC S210 Standard for Dimension Stone Maintenance and Restoration; BSR/IICRC S320 Standard for Professional Assessment, Cleaning, and Restoration of Contents; and BSR/IICRC S340 Standard for Professional Cleaning and Maintenance of Leather Furnishings. All interested industry members are encouraged to apply online to serve on one of the IICRC standard development consensus bodies:

  • BSR/IICRC S210 Standard for Dimension Stone Maintenance and Restoration. This new standard will encompass the cleaning, maintenance, restoration, rehabilitation, preservation methodologies, and repair for interior dimension stone. IICRC is seeking volunteers from the following stakeholder categories: technicians, building owners, property managers, and trade associations. Apply here.

 

  • BSR/IICRC S320 Standard for Professional Assessment, Cleaning, and Restoration of Contents. This standard will focus on the principles, methods, and processes to assess, inventory, pack-out, clean, restore, and enhance the appearance of contents. Contents are defined as materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment located inside a building envelope. It is sometimes defined as personal property. IICRC is seeking volunteers from the following stakeholder categories: restoration and cleaning contractors; distributors of commercial cleaning goods, equipment and consumables; building service contractors; in-house or captive cleaning providers; managers and administrators of commercial facilities; manufacturers of goods and materials of contents covered in this standard; specification writers; design engineers; building engineers; architects; consultants; inspectors; and health professionals.   • BSR/IICRC S340 Standard for Professional Cleaning and Maintenance of Leather Furnishings. This standard establishes a procedural standard for the professional cleaning and maintenance of leather furnishings. It is intended for use by professional cleaners, upholstery manufacturers, retailers, distributors, industry suppliers, specifiers, homeowners, property or facility managers, housekeepers and insurance companies, and others. IICRC is seeking volunteers from the following stakeholder categories: professional cleaners, furnishings manufacturers, retailers, distributors, industry specifiers, homeowners, property or facility managers, housekeepers and insurance specifiers, homeowners, property or facility managers, housekeepers and insurance, and others. ANSI/IICRC standards are voluntary, consensus-based standards that are accepted as the standard of care in the industry. Those who participate have a vote on the standard and can influence what is included and what is not. Participation gives you a voice in the development of the standard.

All new IICRC standards will be developed in accordance with the ANSI Essential Requirements as American National Standards. Those interested in submitting an application to participate on the consensus bodies listed above should click on the link, complete the online application form and submit. Applications will be accepted through August 31, 2021. Please note, separate completed application forms are required for each consensus body.
