SAN GABRIEL VALLEY, CA — A man accused of attacking and carjacking a carpet cleaning van from a rival carpet cleaner earlier this month has pleaded guilty to all charges against him, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

gavelLuis Efren Garcia, 49, was charged with, and pled guilty to, assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious injury, unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle and grand theft of personal property, the article stated.

According to the article, Garcia was sentenced to seven years and eight months in state prison, but the prison term was suspended.

The attack apparently stemmed from a business dispute between Garcia and the victim, Melvin Fernandez, 40, who both operate carpet cleaning businesses, the article noted.
