South Florida Indoor Environment Science Forum scheduled

SUNRISE, FL — The First Annual South Florida Indoor Environment Science Forum — a two-day training program for restorers and IAQ professionals — will take place February 26 – 27 at the Sunrise Doubletree Hilton, according to a press release.

The event will offer a total 14 Continuing Education hours accepted by RIA, IICRC, ACAC and IAQA, in addition to licensing for Florida Mold or Remediation professionals. Seven hours of training will occur on Friday, February 26, and another seven will occur on Saturday, February 27.

Attendees will learn from seasoned industry trainers Eric Shapiro and David Smith as well as indoor mold specialist Dr. Joe Spurgeon, author of The Collection and Interpretation of Indoor Mold Samples.

Friday, February 26:

Dr. Spurgeon will discuss topics from his book, which will be made available for a special event price. Dr. Spurgeon will answer audience questions during the presentation as well at a table during the two-day event for more direct interaction.

A free wine and cheese mixer (at the hotel pool) after the seven hour presentation will offer attendees the opportunity to network with event vendors, make new connections and catch up with friends.

Saturday, February 27:

Shapiro and Smith, who together have over 50 years of experience, will offer discuss various water damage issues, HVAC duct issues and more restoration-related topics including limitations, complications and conflicts.

At the end of the session, a round-table discussion with five industry educators and trainers will answer audience questions.

Lunch and beverages are included with event registration, and special hotel rates are available.

Prices are as follows for those registered before February 1: Both days, $395; Friday only, $295; Saturday only, $195. Registration after February 1 will increase by $50.
