MEMPHIS, TN — ServiceMaster Global Holdings Inc. recently participated in its second annual We Serve Day in which ServiceMaster members across the country simultaneously participated in volunteer efforts, according to a press release.

This year more than a thousand employees took part in the day of volunteerism in more than five states throughout the country.

Volunteering took place in Memphis, Tennessee’s Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital; Madison, Wisconsin’s Ronald McDonald House; and the National Civil Rights Museum, among many others.

"At ServiceMaster, service is more than just a responsibility and a commitment to our customers – it's the heart of our business," Rob Gillette, ServiceMaster’s chief executive officer, said in the release. "Service is part of our name and community service is one of our most cherished traditions. We Serve Day is an important symbol of living our legacy."

The ServiceMaster We Serve Day took place August 22, 2014.
