NORTHBROOK, IL — ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, recently named Lisa Richter its new director of marketing, according to a press release.

“This position is critical in supporting the overall branding and strategy of the association as well as guiding our members and the industry to help us change the way the world views cleaning,” explains ISSA Executive Director John Garfinkel. “Further, this position holds the broadest responsibility of the association in working with the other staff directors to accomplish the strategic objectives of the organization.

Richter, who has worked as a consultant to ISSA for more than four years, formerly was Richter Communications’ principal for 15 years where she handled marketing and corporate communications for Fortune 500 companies, and prior to starting her own company, Richter spent time as a marketing and communications manager, an editor and a writer.

“Since I started working with ISSA in 2011, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the association’s global marketing and communications activities while working with some of the most knowledgeable and caring professionals in the industry,“ Richter shared in the release. “I am looking forward to working with the ISSA team to build on the association’s successes and continuing to explore innovative programs and services to help our members succeed.”

On June 1, Richter will replace Dianna Steinbach, who recently was appointed ISSA’s director-EMEA in Amsterdam.

Garfinkel added, “In this role, I am more than confident that Lisa will be an important asset to our team.”
