VANCOUVER, WA — The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has announced the publication of the inaugural issue of its peer-reviewed technical journal, "The Journal of Cleaning, Restoration & Inspection" (The Journal), according to a press release.

The inaugural issue features four technical, peer-reviewed articles from industry experts focusing on the four disciplines represented by the Institute: Hard-surface cleaning, textile cleaning, disaster restoration and inspection, the release stated.

"Publishing a peer-reviewed technical journal is a great accomplishment for not only the Institute, but the industry as a whole," said Tony Wheelwright, IICRC chairman.

"Because The Journal is the first and only publication of its kind in this industry, this is an exciting time for all of us," Wheelwright added.

According to the release, The inaugural issue includes the following articles:

  • "The Role of Vapor Pressure and Enthalpy in Drying Wood-Based Products," written by Jerry Blaylock.
  • "The ANSI/IICRC S800 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Inspection of Textile Floorcovering," written by Bill Doan and Lew Migliori.
  • "Technical Considerations Concerning Hardwood Floor Cleaning and Restoration in Residential Settings," written by Roy Reichow.
  • "Key Performance Characteristics of Synthetic Textile Fibers," written by J.R. Webster.
