Purdue to host international disaster conference

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — Purdue University has announced it is planning the 10th International Conference of The International Institute for Infrastructure Resilience and Reconstruction (I3R2): Collaboration for Effective Disaster Mitigation and Response, scheduled for May 20-22.
This annual conference, to be held at the university, focuses on critical construction, and draws from the social, political and economic conditions that inevitably shape disaster resilience and reconstruction.
The conference chair is Professor Dr. Robert F. Cox, Ph.D, associate dean of Globalization and Engagement, College of Technology.
Participants will present and learn results of research and discuss community impacts of hazards resulting from natural and man-made disasters, which damage or destroy the built environment.
