Paul Davis National co-sponsors ‘Beat the Heat’ program

MILWAUKEE, WI — The students at Oconto High School's "Beat the Heat" program received some much needed support with a donation of time, expertise and funding for students, according to a press release.

Paul Davis NationalPaul Davis National's Bruce Powell, a project manager, retired top dragster driver, and self-proclaimed "gear-head" spearheaded the effort to help students along with funding donations and help from other tradesmen and technicians, the release stated.

According to the release, Powell and his team of volunteers worked with "Beat the Heat" advisor Herb Stuart on a fuel delivery project to repair a 1982 Ford Mustang, ultimately to compete in the local "Beat the Heat" race with other northeast Wisconsin students and law enforcement officers.

With Powell's help, the students were able to fix the Mustang project car and compete in the local race which was held at Wisconsin International Raceway (WIR), the release noted.

Powell, Paul Davis National, and numerous other professionals included more than $1,700 in cash donations to the "Beat The Heat" student racing organization, the release added.
