ISSA opens new Hygieia Network
NORTHBROOK, IL — ISSA opened membership for its new ISSA Hygieia Network, a women’s forum created to facilitate networking opportunities for women in the professional cleaning sectors, on September 30, according to a press release.
The new Hygieia Network, named after the Greek goddess of cleaning, offers a worldwide community to “provide members with ongoing education, networking opportunities, professional development and industry recognition.” The establishment of the network is an effort to “[advance] and [retain] female professionals in all sectors and at all levels of seniority and experience within the global cleaning community.”
An advisory council of female leaders chaired by Diversey Care president Dr. Ilham Kadri began developing the network in November 2014.
“I truly believe that recognition of outstanding contribution is the best way to elevate the pride and engagement of professionals in our industry,” says Dr. Ilham Kadri. “Since joining this industry, I continue to witness amazing commitment and expertise from many individuals that deserves to be given wider visibility and praise.”
Award nominations are being accepted for the ISSA Hygieia Network Awards, which aims to acknowledge those within the industry who’ve aided in gender equality efforts. To nominate someone for these awards, please visit www.issa.com/hygieia. Nominations must be in by October 15.
The awards will be presented at the ISSA Hygieia Network Reception at the Cosmoplitan Condessa 5 in Las Vegase October 20 at 5:30 p.m.
“Facilitating ongoing networking and commercial opportunities for our members in the international cleaning industry is at the core of ISSA’s mission,” says ISSA Executive Director Emeritus John Garfinkel. “The ISSA Hygieia Network—and its work for the advancement of women in our industry—is a natural fit. We want to encourage companies to look to their workforces to help diversify and develop exemplary leadership.”
