Floor Care Technician Certification Seminar at Penn State
COLLEGE PARK, PA — A special two-day hands-on Floor Care Technician Seminar (IICRC/FCT) will be hosted by the Penn State University custodial service department March 19 and 20, 2015, according to a press release.
The class, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, will be taught by CMM Master Trainer, author and consultant William “Bill” Griffin and will offer maximum hands-on practice on a variety of floor surfaces for 12 private attendees.
Attendees will:
- Learn and use the latest green/sustainable technology, procedures, chemicals and equipment;
- Maintain and restore all common types of floor covering materials, including wood, laminate, stone, ceramic, terrazzo, marble, granite, concrete, epoxy, VAT, VCT and LVT tile, rubber, linoleum and vinyl-sheet goods.
- Discuss common and specialty floor coverings and processes used in commercial, educational, health care, food service, industrial and residential properties, as well as unique surfaces found in kitchens, laboratories, operating rooms, computer rooms and clean rooms.
With over 30 years’ experience as a janitor, consultant and educator in the cleaning industry and multiple manuals, articles and how-to books, like “How to Sell and Price Contract Cleaning,” Griffin is an active carpet and hard surface flooring inspector and instructor. He is one of only 15 Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS/CIMS-GB) assessors and an Accredited Certification Trainer for the ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Training Standard (CITS) program.
