Contec Inc. celebrates 25 years of critical cleaning
SPARTANBURG, SC — Contec Inc. is celebrating a big milestone this year — 25 years bringing critical cleaning solutions to customers all over the world, according to a press release.
In 1988, Jack McBride and Jim Smith started Contec in the relatively early years of the cleanroom manufacturing market, the release stated.
According to the release, Contec’s product line has grown and 25 years later consists of knitted, woven and nonwoven wipes, presaturated wipes, sterile and non-sterile wipes, disinfectants, mops, wall washing systems, sponges and swabs for the pharmaceutical, life sciences, microelectronics, automotive and aerospace manufacturing sectors.
Contec acquired Sporicidin in 2008 to provide more disinfection solutions to a variety of customers in the mold remediation and restoration market, the release noted.
"I look back at where we were 25 years ago and it’s an amazing feeling to see where we are today. When we started, we were confident in our ability to grow a business in this new market, but we never dreamed it would grow to this level," said Jack McBride, chief executive officer (CEO) of Contec Inc.
"The evolution of the company has been a thrill for all of us and it is especially exciting to see jobs being created and careers being made here. The fact that so many of our customers are still with us is a true testament in our commitment to them and our products," McBride added.
