SACRAMENTO, CA — The International Cleaning and Restoration Association (ICRA) has announced that it is going to be offering a Performance Assessment Certification for various cleaning and restoration designations, according to a press release.

Performance assessments are different than cognitive testing (e.g., IICRC certification exams) in that there is no written exam, the release stated.

According to the release, instead, workstations will be set up at Assessment Centers allowing each candidate to demonstrate their ability to perform representative tasks associated with their job classification.

Unlike other certifications, ICRA performance assessments will not require a specified training program prior to the candidate applying for assessment nor will there be a written or oral exam, the release noted.

The first pilot group assessments will be performed in Denver, Colorado, for PACR on June 27, 2014, and the inaugural event will be held at the Experience Convention in Las Vegas on September 5, 2014, the release added.
