Recently, the first cases of Monkeypox in the United States were detected. According to the Washington Post, “The World Health Organization has confirmed 92 cases across 11 countries, mostly in Europe but also in the United States and Canada.”

While this disease is typically only found in Central and West Africa, the most recent cases found in Europe, Canada, and the United States have no travel links to Africa whatsoever leading the Center for Disease Control to warn Americans of a possible outbreak ahead.

In the most recent Cleaning Industry Alert presented by ISSA and the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), Dr. Gavin Macgregor-Skinner, a senior director with GBAC, discusses emerging news about monkeypox and shares thoughts and guidance that applies directly to the cleaning industry.
