In mid-October, the IICRC welcomed the election of five members to the 2015-2016 board of directors. Elections were held during the IICRC’s fall shareholder meeting in Las Vegas.iicrc logoNew board of directors members include Jeff Bishop, Matt Cole, Craig Kersemeier and Lonnie McDonald. Dennis Blake was re-elected. Gary Glenn and Doug Heiferman were also appointed as honorary Board members. New to the elections this year is the inclusion of an IICRC instructor as an honorary Board member. Heiferman will serve in that role.

Following the election, the new board of directors elected Pete Duncanson as chairman and president. As chair, Duncanson will also serve as chairman of the executive committee, which includes: Craig Kersemeier, first vice president; Kevin Pearson, second vice president; Paul Pearce, third vice president; Joe Dobbins, treasurer; Lonnie McDonald, secretary; and Tony Wheelwright, immediate past chairman.

Additional members of the 2015-2016 board of directors include: Peter Crosa, Joe Hughes, Craig Jasper, Patrick Moffett, Steve Moran and Randy Rapp.

IICRC Technical Conference

The IICRC’s Journal of Cleaning, Restoration & Inspection will hold its first IICRC Technical Conference April 10-11, 2016, at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta. The conference focus will be restoration and remediation.

VMA adds business advisor

NORTH CANTON, OH — Violand Management Associates (VMA) recently added Bill Prosch, CR, to its team of advisors.

The addition of Prosch comes in response to VMA’s recent growth. The company said Prosch’s addition will allow “VMA to continue to aid their expanding list of restoration and cleaning clients in developing their professional abilities and sustaining profitable growth in their businesses.”

Prosch, who has over 30 years of experience in restoration production and construction supervision, is an IICRC Certified Senior Carpet Inspector and a Certified Mold Remediation Technician, as well as an RIA Certified Restorer, among other certifications.

Previously he was CEO and production manager for El Dorado Restoration Inc. He has also been a trainer for Service Team of Professionals (STOP) and an expert witness for Turning Leaf Consulting.

ICRA enters understanding with Shaw

SACRAMENTO, CA — The International Cleaning and Restoration Association (ICRA) announced it has entered into an understanding with Shaw Industries, which will provide a referral program through the ICRA Registered Firm and Certified
Cleaner Network.

ICRA will be developing and offering an online basic skills exam for the carpet cleaning basic skills training course offered by Shaw as part of its Shaw Total Care (STC) program.

Existing STC certified technicians who wish to have their certifications grandfathered into ICRA can do so for only $25.
