This two-day course will focus on basic construction and mechanical knowledge for the Remediation/Insurance Professional. BOCA code will serve as the basis of the review of components and methods of basic framing, walls, roofs, exteriors, and mechanical. Over the course of two days, there will be a combination of classroom review and hands on demonstrations and experiences. Students who attend this class will gain knowledge and skill applicable to the Restoration and Insurance Industry.

The application of construction, knowledge and skills will contribute to the successful mitigation of a variety of emergency responses including but not limited to water, fir and mold remediation. When applying principles from the class, you will effectively minimize the needs and costs of subsequent repairs and have the opportunity to perform basic repairs with in-house staff. This HANDS-ON practical course will provide tactical training on critical skills: cutting drywall straight, proper demo techniques, drywall patching, removing and resetting a toilet light fixtures and more.

Course Instructor: Chuck Boutall
After selling the successful Air Quest Systems, a well-known manufacturer of custom desiccant dehumidifiers, large refrigerant dehumidifiers and portable air conditioners, Chuck Boutall turned his attention to training others how to utilize “big” equipment for “big” jobs. Boutall is a down-to-earth type fellow with vast knowledge and education. He is a hands-on instructor. Boutall has been a speaker at the Dri-Eaz Restorative Drying Symposiums, the Water Loss Institute, ASCR National, Connections East and West since 2011, SCRIA 2012 thru 2015 and DRC Canada. He has dried over 4 million square feet of structure, hundreds of thousands of books and documents and designed permanent systems for various manufacturing and storage projects over his 20 year career as an Application Engineer. Boutall has an associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering. His career spanned many years with large well-known companies before building Air Quest Systems from the ground up. In addition, Boutall is a contributing author to the new S500.
